What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

At Encounter Church, our core beliefs are rooted in the foundational truths taught in the Bible. We believe Scripture is the inspired Word of God and the authority for our faith, our teaching, and the way we live.
Everything we teach and every ministry we lead flows from these biblical truths. Our desire is not simply to know doctrine, but to live it out in a way that draws people closer to Jesus, strengthens the church, and brings glory to God.
These beliefs guide who we are as a church, how we worship, how we serve, and how we help people grow in their relationship with Christ.

Holy Bible

We believe the Holy Bible is the authoritative Word of God and the final authority for all doctrine and truth. It is inspired by God and infallible in its original writings. At Encounter Church, all we believe and teach is rooted in Scripture.

Trinity

We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are co-equal, co-eternal, and work together in perfect unity.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. He is fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life, was born of a virgin, performed miracles, died on the cross for our sins, rose again on the third day, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory.

Salvation

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ: His death, burial, and resurrection, Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts

The Church

The Church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus' Great Commission. Every person who is born of the spirit is an integral part of the Church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
